What is Kickboxing?
Kickboxing is a hybrid martial art that combines elements of traditional boxing with powerful kicks derived from Taekwon-Do and Muay Thai. boxing It originated in the 1950s to 1970s, primarily in Japan and the United States, as a competitive sport that merged striking techniques from Eastern and Western fighting styles. Initially developed for full-contact competition, kickboxing grew in popularity through televised bouts and international tournaments.
Today, it’s practiced not only as a combat sport but also as a dynamic form of self-defence and a popular fitness activity. Modern kickboxing emphasises speed, agility, and striking precision, and is used for physical conditioning, stress relief, and competitive fighting across amateur and professional levels worldwide.
